Birth of a Death Knight

"I...remember you. Valencia, my beloved drake."

In a past life I was a warlock. Mistress of chaos and flame, who rained destruction on any foe who dared get in my way. But I was noble and kind- something unusual for one who practices the dark arts. The friendliest warlock they used to call me... but all of that is no more.
I have been slain.
Slain then raised as an undead soldier for the Lich King. They took my life in more ways than one. I can no longer look at my friends the same way; when they look me in the eye they no longer see the warm soul that once shone so bright. Now all they see is a cold blue, devoid of what made me human.
Friends... if I can remember them. Death stole many memories from me, and being in the service of the Lich King for however brief a time removed many more.

But there was one face I remembered without fail- Valencia, my twilight harbinger drake. I freed her from Deathwing's grasp in my previous life and we went everywhere together. I trusted and loved no mount more than her. Many of my mounts had abandoned me when I died, but apparently Valencia never did. When I arrived in Stormwind at the request of Highlord Mograine she was there, waiting for me. I saw her face and everything came rushing back to me... the battles we fought, the nights we spent out in the wilderness, and the bond we shared. A bond that even death could not sever.

So we march on once again. This world is familiar yet new to me, and I've changed greatly... Once a fire-slinging warlock, now a frozen death knight. But Valencia is still by my side, and with her warmth I may just be able to keep moving these old bones towards the future.
